What's Happening at Brevard Family Partnership
Making a Difference Every Day

What does it mean to serve, reach out, and make a difference in someone's life? These are things many of us do without giving much forethought. It can be as simple as a kind word, a caring touch or smile, or an impartation of hope in the life of a hurting individual.

In recognition of Foster Care month, we acknowledge the impact and difference that foster parents make in the life of vulnerable children. Our foster parents are among the most giving and sacrificial members of our community, and valued partners in our system of care. While they are charged with meeting the basic needs of the children entrusted to their care, they often go far above and beyond to make a lasting difference, a difference that may not be realized until many years later.

During the month of May we also recognize our teachers, those who dedicate their careers to positively influencing our children and youth each and every day. They not only impart knowledge but also wisdom, and help create a path to a student's future success.

The staff at Brevard Family Partnership thanks each of you, foster parent and teacher, for your dedication and commitment and most importantly for the difference you make each and every day!

Sincerely,

Dr. Patricia Nellius
Chief Executive Officer
Celebrating Mothers!

Brevard Family Partnership recognizes and celebrates moms throughout the Space Coast, especially our foster and adoptive mothers who provide loving and safe homes for Brevard's kids!

You are loving, warm, selfless, and devoted. You're a role model and mentor for children in your care and those who now call you "mom".

Thank you for making a difference! Remember, to the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world. Happy  Mother's Day!

We Appreciate Teachers!

Teachers - the people who educate us and give us the vital knowledge which we need to live our lives. They encourage, support, discipline and prepare us for the road ahead and now it's time for us to show them our appreciation.

Teacher Appreciation Week (May 7-11, 2012) is the perfect opportunity for us to show teachers how thankful we are for their support. Show your teacher how much he or she means to you and also try to learn a little bit more about them. Take advantage of this great opportunity to show your gratitude to your teacher!

What House Do You Live In?

"I got two A's," the small boy cried.
His voice was filled with glee.
His father very bluntly asked,
"Why didn't you get three?"

"Mom, I've got the dishes done!"
The girl called from the door.
Her mother very calmly said,
"And did you sweep the floor?"

"I've mowed the grass," the tall boy said, And put the mower away!"
His father asked him, with a shrug,
"Did you clean off the clay?"

The children in the house next door
Seem happy and content.
The same things happened over there
But this is how it went:

"I got two A's," the small boy cried.
His voice was filled with glee.
His father proudly said, "That's great!
I'm glad you live with me!"

"Mom, I've got the dishes done!"
The girl called from the door.
Her mother smiled and softly said,
"Each day I love you more."

"I've mowed the grass," the tall boy said.
"And put the mower away!"
His father answered with much joy,
"You've made my happy day!"

Children deserve a little praise
For tasks they're asked to do.
If they're to lead a happy life,
So much depends on you.
