What's Happening at Brevard Family Partnership
Welcome from the CEO

Dear Friends and Partners,

Greetings! On behalf of the Brevard Family Partnership board of directors and executive leadership team, I am writing to inform you of some current and impending changes occurring within our agency. These are intended to functionally align the organization, streamline processes, provide cross training and succession planning, and modernize agency practices and processes.

On July 1, 2014 Debbie Davidson Cook transitioned from her role as Chief Compliance Officer to Senior Executive of Compliance, providing leadership over contracts and compliance, training, quality assurance, legal, and data and utilization management. School is out! Summer safety tips for parents

 Did you know?
  • Nationwide, an average of 37 children die each year from being left alone in hot cars by caring parents or adults who become distracted and forget.
  • Florida leads the nation in drowning deaths of children ages 1-4.
  • Research shows kids are more likely to start smoking cigarettes or marijuana in June or July than in any other month because they are less supervised and have more freedom.

Keep your kids safe this summer! Find some important water, hydration, and heat safety tips here.

Read more about how to prevent in-home drowning death here.

During the summer months, children tend to be outdoors more, home alone more, and supervised less. Learn tips to help avoid abduction and harm here, and more about supervising your children during the summer months here.

The six-week long course for new case managers prepares staff to provide exceptional dependency case management services to Brevard's at risk children.

Foster Parent Highlight: Kevin and Mary Ellen Kilday

Kevin and Mary Ellen Kilday have been licensed foster parents in Brevard County for the past 13 years. They became interested in foster care after taking 5 children into their home as part of a family arrangement. They felt that pursuing foster care was a way to ensure children's medical needs and service needs were being met.
