What's Happening at Brevard Family Partnership
Welcome from the CEO

November is National Adoption Month, a very exciting time for those of us who serve in the field of  child welfare to celebrate the many children and families who have come together to create a forever family and home. This is a time set aside to recognize the thousands of families in Brevard County, the state of Florida and across the US who have opened their hearts and homes to embrace a child and welcome them into their family.

It is a joy and privilege to play a part in the adoption process. We are so fortunate to have a dedicated team of professionals who make this dream a reality for children in Brevard every day...

Walk and Run Celebrates National Adoption Month

In recognition of National Adoption Month and to raise awareness of the many children in Brevard County available for adoption, Brevard Family Partnership hosted it's 7th Annual Walk for Love and the Inaugural Run for Love 5K, on Saturday, November 17th at the Church at Viera.

Thanks to the hundreds of Brevard friends and neighbors who joined us for this exciting day, raising awareness about the many children in our community who are available for adoption! Nearly 400 runners and walkers joined the festivities that began with the 5K run and ended with lunch served by Kays BBQ. Special thanks to the many volunteers to donated their time and talent to make this event a great success!

We can't wait to see everyone again next year!

Meet a Special "Forever Family", the Baileys

Wally and Christa Bailey already had a teenage son who was growing into a young man with a bright future. With a belief that they still had much love to give, they wanted to be foster parents and were considering adopting but weren't sure. However, when one child came to their home, followed ten days later by her sister, Wally and Christa got more than they bargained for but consider it a double-blessing. Today, they have two beautiful girls who call them "Mom" and "Dad."

With Jade and Raven, now ages 12 and 11, respectively, the Bailey household is always busy and filled with sounds of laughter and joy. The Baileys adopted their daughters through Brevard Family Partnership, Brevard's lead child welfare agency that manages the programs and services for children who have suffered abuse, neglect and abandonment...

We all know that children are special...but adopted children are chosen! Adoption is permanence for a child; it means the child has a 'forever' family who will be there for them through the good times and the challenges.

The decision to adopt is one that should never be made in haste or based solely on emotion. The process of adoption makes the chosen child a legal member of the adoptive family with all the rights and privileges of a biological child. Becoming a parent through adoption is time consuming, but it's worth the effort. Give a child the love and security that he or she truly deserves, and make your house a home to an extraordinary child!

Visit our Heart Gallery to see some of these special children who are avialable for adoption.
