What's Happening at Brevard Family Partnership
Welcome from the CEO

This month I would like to bring special attention to our dedicated case management staff and leadership. Devereux and Children's Home Society have provided case management services for the children and families entrusted to our care for over eight years.

In this role they assume responsibility for the safety and well-being of over 850 children. On a regular basis they make home visits, coordinate services and medical care, attend court hearings, ensure children are enrolled in school and performing academically, and that they are safe and stable in their placements...

Anderson and Coats for Kids Holiday Drive

For the third year in a row, Commissioner Andy Anderson is spearheading the Coats for Kids drive. In the last two years, we have collected a total of over 2,000 coats.

"The overwhelming success of this program over the first two years has proven that there is a need for these coats in the community and that generous Brevard County residents are willing to help where they can," Anderson said.

New coats can be dropped off at any Brevard County Public Library from November 1st through 30th. Bring the coat to the staff at the front desk and they will store it. All coat donations will be given to the Brevard Family Partnership for distribution to children in need.

News From the Field - DCM Spotlight

In this month's news from the field, the spotlight is on CHS Lead Dependency Care Manager, Carolyn Calloway. Carolyn began her career as a child protection professional in 2003. She has always loved working with children and families and wants to make a positive difference in their lives.

One of her greatest joys in doing this work is being able to reunify families and keep them together or finding forever homes when reunification is not possible. Some of Carolyn's keys for success include: having a strong, supportive team; keeping a sense of humor; and knowing her work can improve the lives of others.

Carolyn is recognized for her strong work ethic, leadership qualities, engagement abilities, and her dedication to the children and families of Brevard County. We at the South Care Center also appreciate the way she can lift everyone's spirit with a song....of which "Proud Mary" is the most requested.

Thank you for your hard work and dedication to Brevard's children and families, Carolyn!
