Honoring August's "Heroes of the Month"

On Wednesday, August 13th, Borough President Adams honored the men and women of Engine 225, Ladder 107, Battalion 39, and EMS Stations 39 and 58 as the inaugural "Heroes of the Month" for saving the lives of three children during a fire in East New York.

Borough President Adams welcomed a visiting group of Japanese youth and officials to Brooklyn Borough Hall as part of a Brooklyn-Japan Baseball exchange, which established a connection between the two cultures impacted by natural disasters, the Japanese earthquake and tsunami in 2011
and Hurricane Sandy in 2012, on Thursday, July 24th.
