Brief debriefing...
Communities dealing with stranded nuclear waste at sites
across our nation and Canada gathered in Chicago from March 15-19. Experts and members of grass roots organizations furthered their quest for reasonable nuclear waste storage solutions. We succeeded in establishing a set of goals and actions that we can adopt on a united front. It was enriching and reassuring to be surrounded by such dedicated and well informed individuals from a broad spectrum. The bonds between us have been strengthened as a result of this intense gathering.
We were especially glad to have Jackson Hinkle participate in this event with us.
Jumbo Thank You to all of you who donated to this cause, in case you didn't hear from me personally already. Looks like we covered most of the expenses and may be getting some help from others to fill the gap.
BTW - My eye surgery is healing nicely and was no problem going to Chicago. Thanks for the many good wishes.

San Clemente Green is participating in two major efforts being requested of the CEP. One is to promote real time radiation monitoring available to the public at all times. Another is to promote a special CEP meeting to consider potential threats that have previously been dismissed and ignored as being too unlikely to warrant further discussion. Special thanks to Gene Stone and Roger Johnson for spearheading these efforts.
Japanese families face a very difficult choice between staying in contaminated areas or self-evacuating without the support of the government who insists it is safe to stay put, in spite of much evidence to the contrary.
Come learn more about the consequences of radioactive fallout
and how poorly other governments have dealt with it.
