As mobile devices become more prevalent, so does their use for work in addition to play. Employees are regularly using their own personal devices (smartphones, tablets, and laptops) to conduct business or store company information. However, this can lead to security breaches - employees are not regularly aware of or familiar with security best practices. Mobile devices are also prone to being lost, and more likely to use a non-secure connection.
Should businesses provide company devices to their employees, in order to regulate them more carefully? Is it too expensive, or do the potential dangers outweigh the cost? Should employees be allowed to use their personal devices for confidential company information, and how could technology security training be implemented? In this session, we'll hear a panel discuss the BYOD practice and its implications.
