To celebrate summer, I thought it would be fun to sponsor a contest honoring one of our necessary and often devalued co-habitants of this earth. Some are sweet, some are stinging, but all serve their unique purpose, just like all of us. Send us an original, handmade insect to pin on our window display and maybe you will be one of the lucky winners.  I discovered this 1849 bookplate last weekend at Brimfield Flea Market after an hour scouring over hundreds of beautifully detailed insect drawings while taking shelter from the rain.  I am definitely using one of these as my muse.  I have some books at the shop if you need ideas.  I can't wait to see what you come up with!
