Principal's Message

Hello Brown Families,

With all of the academic achievements your children have accomplished over this past month, we have also taken the time to celebrate the accomplishments of a local Brownsburg Graduate.  You know her as Olympic Silver Medalist, Chloe Dygert.  We had the privilege of having Chloe in the building to share her experiences with your children.  They enjoyed it very much and walked away knowing they can achieve any goal they strive for.

Thank you Chloe for continuing to support our Bulldog Pups!!
I would also like to give a special thank you to our PSG for showing your appreciation for Teachers by inviting the Waffle Guy to come provide lunch for our staff.  Thank you very much!!!!!!!  It was AMAZING!!!!

We have a very busy month ahead of us and you will find all of those details outlined below.  Also, please be reminded that we are continuing to collect metal coke tabs.  This is in support of Ronald McDonald House.  If you have been saving your tabs please send them in at any time.

Be safe Brown Families and enjoy your holiday weekend!

Kind regards,

Casey Smitherman

Information for 3rd-5th grade parents:

We are planning a Career Day for students in grades 3-5 (including the 2/3 classroom) for Friday, October 7th in the afternoon.  We are looking for parents who would be willing to volunteer their time to share their profession with our students.  We would like to have a variety of careers represented.  A green flyer was sent home with the students this week.  Please look for it and consider  volunteering for this event.  After you receive the flyer, if you have any questions or need further information, please call Kathy Browning.  Our deadline on hearing back from volunteer speakers is Friday, September 9th.

Did you know that the week of September 26th -30th is College Go Week?   This is a week for students to be thinking of their plans for college and career success.   Our elementary students are on the road to college by being responsible with their learning each and every day in the classroom.  We will be celebrating the week by doing activities and having spirit days.

Body Safety Parent Preview Night:  Tuesday, November 1st
Location:  Eagle Elementary Cafeteria from 6:00 - 7:00

Parents are invited to attend this meeting to learn about the age-appropriate lessons that will be taught to your children this school year by the elementary school counselors. Unfortunately, recent counts show that sexual abuse of children takes place more often than we would like to believe. As a result, our children need to be taught assertiveness and self-protection skills to prevent such tragedies. This program is presented in a non-threatening, informative way.

Parents, please join us so that you can see the videos and hear about the lessons that will be presented at each grade level. For the lessons we will be using the same videos as last year for all grades with the exception of 4th grade.  A new video will be used this year.

Yankee Candle Fundraiser is Coming

The 16th Annual Yankee Candle fundraiser for the Brownsburg Education Foundation (BEF) is around the corner. On Friday, September 9th, each student will receive a catalog to share with family and friends. The BEST and EASIEST way to order is online and you will find the instructions for sending the link for online ordering to your family and friends in the packet. Online orders will be delivered directly to the one ordering by mail in 2-3 weeks. If the paper order form is used, the order form and money need to be returned by September 28th to your school. You will have to pick up and distribute anything ordered using the paper order form on November 8th & 9th at the BCSC Maintenance Facility at 550 Airport Road.  Proceeds from this fundraiser go toward teacher educational grants and student scholarships that are given out each year by the BEF whose mission is to encourage and support creativity, innovation, and excellence that will enhance the educational community of the Brownsburg Community School Corporation.  Thank you for your support of BEF!
