Dear friends,
So much has happened in the last month. As I write this we are blessed to have our home church, Grace Community here in Ecuador with us. Currently they are serving in Huaticocha, a small town in the jungle, by clearing land to begin construction for a Missionary Training Center and providing Vacation Bible School. They are the first group who has ever served in this community. Casey, Luke, and three young men from Opcin de Vida are with the Grace team in Huaticocha. Luke is serving as one of the translators during VBS. More information from this trip will be in our next newsletter. We would appreciate your prayers for this team of 24 who have come from Tyler, Texas to Quito, Ecuador. It is encouraging and refreshing for us to serve alongside our home church family. Here is a picture of the Grace Student Ministries group in the Basilica - incredible students and leaders.

Gran's visit | |
We are so thankful that my mom, Jackie was here this month to visit us. This is her third time to come to Ecuador and it is such a treat to have her with us. Luke, Jordan, and Molly were thrilled to have their Gran here for all of their end of year school activities - we kept my mom busy. Gran also got to come to the big event, Molly's dance recital.
Not only did she enjoy spending time with her family, she also loved getting to be with our Casa Elizabeth family. Here she is loving on the newest member of Casa Elizabeth, Benjamin.
We cherish the times when our families come to visit, but it always goes by too quickly. Thanks for coming Gran! |
Inca Link's Amazing Race | |
I could devote the whole newsletter to the Amazing Race and still not capture everything we did. Inca Link has 15 interns serving this summer in Peru and Ecuador. To orient the interns on Inca Link, we traveled to every ministry site in Ecuador and Peru. The interns used 11 modes of transportation from foot to mototaxis to donkeys, boats and more. They had various challenges all along the way - making taffy and selling it on the bus, digging up worms and yes, frying them up and eating them, jumping off a bridge, guiding a guinea pig down a maze, carrying water to houses in the city dump who have no running water, surfing for 5 seconds... Inca Link has an incredible group of interns serving this summer! Please pray for them as they help lead teams and serve at the various ministry sites in Peru, Colombia, and Ecuador.

Here is the first team to the finish line of the Amazing Race in Peru. This was a fast and crazy week, hence the word "race", but it was wonderful for us to meet all of the people who Inca Link partners with in ministry and to see what the Lord is doing in other parts of South America. |
Casa Elizabeth update | |
Thank you for your prayers for the ministry of Casa Elizabeth. Miriam's baby, Benjamin is healthy, fat and growing. Miriam is currently training at a sewing business to learn how to sew and have a job after she leaves Casa Elizabeth. Thanks for praying for L. She is doing very well and has returned to school. We are praying that the Lord will provide a permanent and safe home for her. Even though Maritza has left Casa Elizabeth, we are grateful that she continues to visit and desires to maintain a relationship with all of us. Her baby, Isaias is now 6 months old and is full of smiles and belly laughs. It is a joy to be a part of the lives of these young ladies and their babies. Please remember to pray for David and Lucy who are the house parents and for their children, Alison and Mateo. We praise God for His faithfulness and sovereignty in leading our family to Inca Link and Casa Elizabeth.

Thank you for your many prayers for our ministry with Inca Link and for our family. Thank you for supporting us financially so we can live and serve here in Ecuador. It is so beautiful to see the body of Christ work together for His Name to be known and glorified. You make it possible for us to be here - thank you!
Along with our family blog, you can also see many pictures from Renae's facebook on what is going on in our lives here in Ecuador.
