The Bryn Mawr Farmers Market Opening Day
Have we mentioned yet how good it is to be back?
We start the 2016 season in full spring mode.
Two Gander will have ramps, microgreens, red and green butterhead lettuce, baby swiss chard, pac choi, hakurei turnips, the last of the sweet winter carrots, honey, and heirloom tomato sauce, plus a special on spinach this week: two 1/2 lb bags for $7.
Canter Hill opens the season with a huge sale: discounted prices on whole chickens, pork tenderloins and chops, lamb shoulder chops, scrapple, and eggs.
Herbal Springs Farmstead returns with plants for the garden, the yard, the house, and the office.
Look for more even more garden starters from Two Gander: tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, parsley, basil, kale, chard, broccoli, and cabbage, all transplants raised from seed by Trey & Deirdre with a premium certified organic potting mix.
Jenny & Frank's Gelato will be scooping away, Amaranth Bakery returns, Wild Flour and Flour & Oats will be there too, Joe Coffee and Firehouse Donuts, Birchrun Hills and Shellbark Hollow, John & Kira's, Hazel & Ash, Good Spoon Foods, Anita's Guacamole, Vera Pasta returns too, Frecon Farms and Davidson Mushrooms, and new vendor Blue Mountain Vineyards -- all wine made from the grape growers themselves. Don't buy wine from strangers!
And next week, even more new vendors and old friends!
In case you haven't heard, so happy to be back!
