Buddy Baseball Newsletter
August 2017
Hello Buddy Baseball Fans,

We have more big news this month.  The Director of Leisure Services for the City of Temple Terrace came to me last year and asked if Buddy Baseball would like to have a "pour in place" synthetic rubber baseball field.  One smooth surface so it will be easier and safer to play on.  I said, "YES!" I told them that we would like two fields.  The state of Florida and Hillsborough County has awarded the City of Temple Terrace the money to build the fields!  They will be smaller sized fields and built on the soccer field between the parking lot and the Recreation Complex.  We hope to break ground in January.

Have you registered for the fall season?  Registration closes at 6:00 pm on Friday 8/25.  Don't miss out.  We are expecting a full roster of players and buddies.  School is back is session.  Have your kids spread the word about Buddy Baseball.

Mark your calendars for our Meet and Greet on Saturday, September 23rd.  Opening Day will be Saturday, September 30th.

Grandparent Spotlight
Marie Clark
Marie Clark

Grandmother to Maria, Christina and Anna Ames.

Marie has been coming to watch her grandchildren, Maria, Christina and Anna, for a long time.  Marie is 77 and is a native of Tampa.  She was the head cheerleader at Hillsborough High School.  That is no surprise to anyone who hears her cheering on her girls at the games.  Other than being a cheerleader, she was a tap and ballet dancer and a contortionist. She is also a USF graduate.  Marie is the oldest of eight children and has two children of her own, five granddaughters and 1 grandson.  She works on her high school class reunions for her graduating class of 1958.  She loves gardening and coming to the Buddy Baseball games.
Where are they now?
The Sylvestres
The Sylvestre Family

Suzanne and Peter Sylvestre were coaches on the Bobcats and Paul was on the team. For the past year, the Sylvestre's have been living north of Boston, MA. Paul will be in the ninth grade this school year.  He has been involved with lots of sports but his favorite is baseball. Paul played on the North Andover Challenger League. He was also asked to be an assistant for the Masconomet High School Varsity Baseball team this past spring. They often think about Buddy Baseball and how much they miss everyone.  Go Bobcats!
