It's here! It's here! Our spring season starts on Saturday, February 17th. Welcome to all of our new players, buddies and coaches to the league. I look forward to seeing everyone at The Meet and Greet luncheon on Saturday February 10th at the Lightfoot Center in Temple Terrace. More information below.
This season we will award two Buddy Baseball scholarships. High School seniors who have played at least three seasons are eligible to apply for this $750 scholarship.

Meet and Greet - Saturday, 2/10/2018
The Meet and Greet is where our players, buddies and coaches get a chance to meet for lunch and get their team shirts and hats. We will be serving McDonalds Cheeseburgers, Chicken McNuggets, deli sandwiches, salad, fruit, desserts and drinks. Please check when you team is scheduled to meet.

We will be having our buddy training for all of the new buddies and coaches in between the two Meet and Greet Sessions on Saturday, 2/10/2018 from 12:00 pm to 12:40 pm. This is for the buddies and the coaches only, not for the players.

Player Spotlight - EJ Costantino

EJ Costantino
EJ attends Citrus Park Elementary and is nine years old. His favorite food is ice cream and if he had $1000 he would buy ice cream. EJ has the "best" big sister and her name is Emma. He likes to bowl and is good at it. His favorite subject in school is Music and if he was famous it would be for his looks.

Arianna McKendree
Arianna is 14 years old and this is her third season of Buddy Baseball. She is the Vice President of her Best Buddies chapter at Dr. John Long Middle School. Arianna has a a horse named Cocoa, two dogs named Biscuit and Nacho, a cat named Fenimore Muffin and a new baby brother named AJ, who is 8 months old. Her special talent is Karate and horse back riding. When she grows up she wants to be a veterinarian.

Steve Gerstein
Steve is one of our Buddy Baseball announcers and he and his wife Mallory also sponsor a team. Mallory and Steve have been married for 36 years and they have twin 31 year old daughters. Steve is originally from Brooklyn NY. He has lived in seven states in the northeast, midwest, and south. Steve and Mallory moved to Tampa in 2006. Steve has been retired since 2005.
He saw his first Buddy Baseball game about four years ago, and fell in love with the program almost immediately. As someone who enjoys helping charitable causes both time wise and monetarily, he found it a great fit for him. In addition to Buddy Baseball, he volunteers as a Tax Aide for the AARP Tax Counseling for the Elderly program, has worked in numerous positions at Congregation Beth Am, as well as coordinates events for the Tampa Bay Newcomers Men's Club. His recreational hobbies include tennis, golf, duplicate bridge, investing, and traveling.

Our Buddy Scholarship is available to graduating seniors who have played at least three seasons of Buddy Baseball. An independent panel of judges will select our two winners. Each winner will receive a $750 scholarship.
Application deadline: Saturday, March 17th at 6:00 pm.
