Hello Buddy Baseball Fans, 

Our fall season is underway!  This season we have 100 players, 96 buddies, 53 coaches and 16 teams, representing 95 different schools in the Tampa Bay area.  
 
Thanks to the Tampa Breakfast Sertoma Club for the great cookout on Opening Day.
 
Our main fundraiser, the Buddy Run will be on Sunday morning, November 5, 2017.  There will be a 5K race, a 1 Mile Fun Run and the Buddy Dash for our runners with special needs. More information below.

Opening Day
We had a great Opening Day. 23% of the participants are new to Buddy Baseball!
Buddy Run

Sign up for our 7th Annual Buddy Run at Trout Creek - Wilderness Park on Sunday morning, November 5th. Player Spotlight - Devon Goodman
Devon Goodman
Devon is 20 years old and is a long time player.  He attends Pepin Transitional and loves to talk about fishing, super heroes and heavy metal music.  If he had $1000 he would buy a fishing charter trip.  Devon would like to meet Hugh Jackman.
Buddy Spotlight - Isabella Lindley

Isabella attends the University of South Florida and is 17 years old. She plays violin and her favorite restaurant is Liang's Bistro. If she had $1000, she would buy make up.
Rookie  Spotlight
Andrew Jankowski
Andrew Jankowski
Andrew is nine years old and attends Morning Star School. In his first game in Buddy Baseball, he was awarded the Game Ball!  His favorite musical group is Journey and the Scorpions.  If Andrew was famous, it would be for surviving in the Alaskan wild.

Sarah Knodle and Nicole Dunn

Sarah and Nicole are new coaches to our league, but Sarah has plenty of experience in Buddy Baseball. She started as a buddy, then was a coach in my sister's Buddy Baseball league in Rockford, IL for the past nine summers.  Sarah recently moved to Florida to take a job as a physical therapist at a neurological institute.  She enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family and loves to play sports, especially soccer.
 
Nicole was born and raised in Tampa and graduated from King High School.  She has an A.S. and B.A. in Criminal Justice and is currently enrolled in the MBA program at Saint Leo University.  She loves to dance and hang out with friends and family. She has a 4 ½ years old hound and boxer mix dog named Dixie.  Nicole loves chocolate and sweet tea.

Stephen Gueterman's grandparents
Adelaide and Jim will celebrate their 49th wedding anniversary in December.  Adelaide is from North Carolina and Jim is from Louisville, KY.  She was an Elementary School teacher and he worked in electric utilities in Birmingham, Atlanta and Chicago.  They have two children and four grandchildren.  Adelaide enjoys playing bridge and Jim likes to read and getting together with friends. They both enjoy traveling.  Some of their favorite trips were a Baltic Cruise to St. Petersburg, Russia and trips to London and Egypt. They are most proud of Stephen and all of his accomplishments.

Thanks to the students at Terrace Community Middle School and student advisor Caryl Kloppenburg for helping out with the Meet and Greet.  They did a great job with serving the food and drinks, set up and clean up.

Daniel Stein
Daniel Stein
Daniel was a buddy for 10 seasons. He looked forward to Saturday mornings with the Ravens and felt that he learned a lot from the kids on the team.
 
Daniel is a Junior at Yale University. He is an Art major with a focus on Film-Making. Daniel loves photography and has done freelance work in the area - photographing weddings, birthday parties, and corporate shoots.  He also loves Ultimate Frisbee and is on the school team.
 
Daniel studied abroad at the University of Sydney, Australia. He's enjoyed his classes as well as exploring the area and learning about the local culture.
