Suddenly can't access some external websites? There's a reason for that.
If you’ve had a hard time accessing some external websites recently, it’s because of security concerns with the District’s network. As a way to prevent hacks, phishing attempts and other cyber risks, the IT team is blocking all sites that generate from outside the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The only exception is if a site is on the District’s list of approved vendors. We understand this is causing some complications for those who depend on certain external sites for daily work. It may also limit access to information and resources shared in our internal publications if you try to access them on the District’s network.
