Local Corporations Build
a New Habitat Home in Moncks Corner
Alcoa, Berkeley Electric Co-Op, Boeing, DuPont, Eastwood Homes, Home Depot and Molina Health employees are building a new home for Amanda's family at 215 Cooper Street in Moncks Corner.
"It's great to be working with the Habitat partner families, getting our hands dirty and learning about the Wall Street neighborhood," says Stephanie Scott of Molina Health, "Lots of folks really need decent housing in Berkeley County."
A Big Success! Wall Street Community Day
"I want a better neighborhood not just for my children, but for all the children-for all of us." says Willie Powell, a resident of the Wall Street neighborhood.
Habitat for Humanity of Berkeley County is a part of a neighborhood revitalization initiative across the US to serve more families by responding to community aspirations with an expanded array of products, services and partnerships.
The first Wall Street Community Day on October 4th was a big success thanks to people like Willie Powell and the United Way Prosperity Center. Social service agencies from the Town of Moncks Corner, Berkeley County and the state of South Carolina were onsite to provide information about available community resources. Food, sports, a jump castle, and live entertainment filled the day.
