You are invited to attend the Shaker Heights Business Appreciation Mixer (SH-BAM) on Thursday, September 14, from 5:00-7:00 pm at The Dealership (3558 Lee Road). This event is for all business owners/managers including retail, office, restaurant, home-based and so on. The mixer is co-sponsored by the City of Shaker Heights and the Heights-Hillcrest Regional Chamber of Commerce (HRCC). We hope you will join us for this festive event where you can connect with fellow business owners as we thank you for your contribution to this community.

Construction Notice
Construction is underway in the Shaker Town Center area. The project includes replacing crosswalks and sidewalks will be repaired. Anticipated completion is early December, weather permitting.

Traffic, left turns, and on-street parking will be restricted, but one through traffic lane in each direction will be maintained at all times. Signs will indicate traffic pattern changes and detours throughout the project duration.

There are two phases to the project:
Phase I: Lee Rd. from City Hall to Chagrin Blvd. (late Aug to early Oct)
Phase II: Chagrin Blvd. from Lee Rd. to Avalon Rd. (late Sep to late Nov)

Motorists are advised to find alternate routes for the duration of the project. All dates are approximate as the timing of each phase is dependent upon the weather. Come celebrate 100 years of fire service in Shaker Heights at the annual Fire Department Open House. Enjoy refreshments, activities for the whole family, and the official dedication of the Fire Centennial Pocket Park Mural (which is located down the street between Nationwide Insurance and Dynamic Barbers Cut Shop). Many thanks to the Cipriani Company for their support of the project and for going above and beyond to prepare the wall for the mural.

Business Pricing for Recreation Programs
The Recreation Department in the City of Shaker Heights is proud to make available programs and services to people who work in Shaker Heights at resident prices. To take advantage of recreation programs and services, please review the catalog here . This webpage provides general information on recreation programs and services. The first time a Shaker business owner or employee registers or places a reservation they will need to do so in person at Thornton Park (3301 Warrensville Center Road) during regular business hours. Proof of employment or ownership is required. This can be a pay stub, a business card or letter from the Human Resources Department of the business. Each year this information will need to be updated. For corporations and large businesses, with offices/storefronts in Shaker Heights, employees must work at the Shaker location.

Services include pool and rink passes, all recreation programs and facility rentals and pavilion reservations. Some programs have limitations on the number of registrants and early registration is encourages. All program cancellation and withdrawal rules apply regardless of residency.
Membership Has Its Benefits
The City of Shaker Heights has been a member of Heights-Hillcrest Regional Chamber of Commerce since 1949. Check out the HRCC website to learn more about what they have to offer and how your business can benefit from membership.
Recycling for Businesses
Businesses are now welcome to bring recyclables to the Service Center on Mondays from 4:00-6:00 pm. Please call Kelly Baker at 216.491.3289 so that the staff know to expect you. When you come to the Service Center, please bring a piece of mail that shows your Shaker business address when you check in at the yard office.
