2017 Business & Leadership Awards Open for Nominations
The Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for the 2017 Business & Leadership Awards, which will be presented at our Annual Dinner on September 20th, 2017. Nominations are due by Friday, August 11th at 5:00 p.m. Nominations may be made via email or by delivery to the GVCC offices. The six award categories include:
  • Business of the Year (Large Category)
  • Business of the Year (Small Category)
  • Start-up to Watch
  • Statesman of the Year
  • Community Champion
  • And our new John S. McKibbin Leadership Legacy Award.

Fall 2017 [Business Law] Workshop Series Seeking a Presenting Sponsor

This is one of the Chamber's most promoted programs and marketing opportunities for your business are vast. This series will be a feature in the Sept/Oct Vancouver VISION Magazine. Chamber Seeking Attorneys to Present in Fall Workshop Series
The GVCC is currently recruiting instructors for our September Workshop Series focused on business law. If you are an attorney or legal adjacent business and are interested in instructing a workshop in September during our fall series, please email Chandra Chase, the GVCC's Programs & Communications Director.

Pop-Up Marketplace Nearly Full
The GVCC is launching a new "Pop-up Marketplace" vendor space during three evening concerts in Esther Short Park this summer on July 6th, 27th and Aug 10th.  The Pop-Up Marketplace is presented by Columbia Credit Union and will feature the Couve Cycle. Few vendor opportunities are still available for artists and retail booths!

The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering low-interest federal loans for working capital to small businesses economically impacted by the severe winter storm that occurred Jan. 8-20, 2017.

iQ Credit Union has announced five recipients of its 2017 scholarship program honoring students pursuing undergraduate degrees or professional training. Scholarship winners were selected based on academic achievement, community service, a written essay and letters of recommendation. Recognized in three categories, each scholarship winner receives $2,000 from the credit union. 

William Westmoreland has joined Workforce Southwest Washington (WSW) as its Workforce Systems Manager. In this role, he is responsible for ensuring the WorkSource centers and affiliated sites that provide employment and job training services to individuals and businesses in Southwest Washington comply with federal mandates of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).

The National Women’s Coalition Against Violence & Exploitation (NWCAVE) honored Robin Helm with the Rita Corbin Burns Humanitarian Award. Helm, a social worker with Clark County Juvenile Court, Robin was honored on June 2nd at the Hilton Vancouver Hotel during the No More Summit.
