The Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce has evolved our Shop Local Business Showcase into a "Pop Up Marketplace" and we're looking for vendors! We will be showcasing local options for goods and services during a popular existing event, the Riverview Six to Sunset Concerts Series, which has had attendance of over 4,000. Perkins & Co CPA Receives National Award
The American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) Standing Ovation program has recognized Paris Powell as one of 25 CPAs age 40 and under to be honored for their contributions to the areas of forensic accounting and business valuation. Powell, along with the other talented young Standing Ovation CPAs from across the country, was honored at the AICPA's 2016 Forensic & Valuation Services (FVS) Conference in Nashville.

iQ Credit Union has awarded $12,000 in Read With MeTM and Literacy program grants to promote reading and put books in the hands of elementary, middle and high school students. Fifty-eight teachers in 33 individual schools received the 2017 grants, which will benefit more than 1,400 students. 

GVCC Member Teresa Huddleston of The Upper Room is working with Evergreen Habitat for Humanity and is raising funds to travel to Guatemala to work on: Habitat Guatemala. GIVE.

WSU Vancouver is excited to announce a new addition to their programming - the MAP Collective. This program is designed to accelerate small business growth through readily applicable tools. The MAP Collective will run May-July 2017. 

The Nutter Family Foundation has broken $1 million dollars
These are funds given back to children’s charities in our community. The Nutter Foundation’s primary contribution is their signature annual event, Dozer Day®, that puts kids in the driver’s seat of real heavy-construction equipment, fire engines, an ambulance and much more while educating about building sustainable communities, industry opportunities and public safety. 

Dozer Days: Call for Volunteers 
The Nutter Foundation is actively recruiting volunteers for Dozer Day 2017. Dozer Day is a fun family event that allows kids to operate dump trucks, dozers, and excavators! Proceeds from Dozer Day benefit a variety of community groups and organizations. This year’s event will be held Saturday, May 20th, and Sunday, May 21st at the Clark County Fairgrounds in Ridgefield, Washington. Volunteers are needed to operate equipment (experienced, professional operators only), work with equipment operators to help children on and off machinery, monitor lines, and assist with check-in, ticket taking, etc. All volunteers must be at least 14 years old. 

Alicia Smith and Kylie Burk have joined Davidson & Associates Insurance of Vancouver as Personal Account Managers. Smith is an experienced insurance professional and holds an associate degree with honors from Clark College and attended from Brigham Young University. Burk holds an associate of arts degree from Central Oregon Community College and has experience in customer service and the insurance industry. Both reside in Vancouver.
