The S.S. Badger is the last coal-fired passenger steamship in operation in the United States. She has provided a fun, reliable and affordable shortcut across beautiful Lake Michigan for more than 60 years and has transported millions of passengers since her re-birth in 1992.
In 2016, the S.S. Badger received the nation's highest historic honor when the Department of Interior designated the Badger as a National Historic Landmark. Additionally, the Badger is extremely unique in that she is a landmark that moves.

On Wednesday Chamber members attended an interactive, half-day workshop entitled Team 2.0 (Together Everyone Accomplishes More) at the Holiday Inn - Manitowoc.
The workshop was presented by Bill Drury, one of the country's top speakers, and featured an overview of the team concept, an establishment of a baseline for building teamwork and increasing productivity.

Building a Strong Safety Culture with New Employees

 The Chamber's Safety, Health & Wellness Council hosted "Building a Strong Safety Culture with New Employees" on Thursday at Holy Family Memorial.
The presentation focused on on-boarding new employees with views from local representatives. Panelists included Bob Wolf, NextEra Energy Resources Point Beach Nuclear Plant; Randy Connour, Holy Family Memorial; Dianne Stewart, Lowe's Home Improvement; and Tom Fitzgerald, Parker Hannifin.

Ribbon Cutting & Open House at The Crossing HOME

A Ribbon Cutting and Open House took place at The Crossing HOME on Thursday.
The Crossing HOME opened in January to provide transitional housing for pregnant women and women with small children who are struggling, but motivated toward success. Their programs will help women move out of poverty and become assets to our community.

20th Anniversary Ribbon Cutting at The Seamstress

The Seamstress at 929 S. 8th St. in Manitowoc celebrated 20 years in business with a Ribbon Cutting Friday afternoon.
The five ladies at The Seamstress are your alterations and repair professionals in downtown Manitowoc. From patching and hemming jeans to formal alterations, The Seamstress will tackle just about anything. They've enjoyed serving the community for 20 years with their love of sewing!

The new owners of GJ's Salon N Spa - Travis and Mindy Christensen - celebrated with a Grand Reopening Ribbon Cutting on Friday. GJ's is located at 1604 Washington St., Two Rivers.
GJ's was previously owned and operated by Mindy's mother, Gloria and Thomas Duenkel for the last 37 years. Travis and Mindy plan to enhance the salon with a twist on decor and with some new services for men and women. They are also excited to announce our newest product line Keune, which is made in Holland. Keune brings a broader spectrum of salon hair color and salon quality hair care products to our area!
