The Dealership
...the Co-Work, Office and Makers Space
Shaker Heights Development Corporation (SHDC) is pleased to announce that 3558 Lee Road (the former home of LaunchHouse) will now be The Dealership. The new name, which is a nod to its historic roots, will be a place where deals are done, networks are created and collaborations are forged. SHDC will operate the space as an entrepreneurial hub where individuals and small businesses can rent an office, join the co-work space and come to the many events and programs that will be held there. SHDC will move its offices to the facility as well. FASS Real Estate Services (a Shaker business located on Lee Road) will manage facility operations.
The Dealership
Dedicated offices and co-work memberships are available. Amenities include high-speed fiber internet, conference/meeting rooms, kitchen facilities and free bike and car parking. The Dealership is easily accessible by bike, public transit and car. For more information, contact the Shaker Heights Development Corporation at 216-491-1425 or
SHDC will leverage its relationships to bring programming, office hours and technical assistance from groups like the Small Business Administration, the Small Business Development Center, ECDI and the Women’s Business Center, among others. Two upcoming events in July and August focus on artist entrepreneurs and will feature panel discussions curated by Ingenuity on topics including, “The Artist’s Role in Neighborhood Development: What You Want to See” and “Artist as Businessperson: How to Market Yourself and Get Paid!” Both events are part of the City’s Moreland Rising initiative.
Moreland Rising: Chagrin-Lee
New Business Openings
Shaker Towne Centre's newest tenant is Sparks Beauty Supply (16951 Chagrin), which is owned by Shaker's own, Moreland neighborhood resident, Cinnamon Anderson. The store offers high-quality, affordable beauty products, many of which are more obscure natural hair care products. Shop local and support a neighbor at Sparks Beauty Supply!
Catwalk (16802 Chagrin), the newest addition to Shaker Commons, is a women's clothing, shoes and accessories store. Catwalk carries sizes small to 3XL. You will find looks that range from after 5 clothing to formal wear.
Pet Valu opened in May at Shaker Towne Centre (16675 Chagrin) and further diversifies the retail mix in the Chagrin-Lee area. Pet Valu carries over 7,000 products, including holistic and premium brands of pet foods and treats, plus innovative pet supplies to suit every budget. Pet Valu also has dog washing stations - its a messy job, so they do the post bath clean up! Sign up for the Pet Valu newsletter here. Store manager, Mary Anne, is pictured above.
Another new addition to the south side of Chagrin is Culture (16832 Chagrin), which sells a variety of urban apparel for both men and women, including sporting clothes and athletic shoes. Independently owned, the Shaker Heights location is the second of three stores, the others being downtown Cleveland in the 5th Street Arcade and Cleveland Heights' Cedar Lee area.
Celebrate with Ice Cream
Add a Baskin-Robbins ice cream cake to your next celebration . The local shop at Shaker Towne Centre has a new franchise owner and has been completely updated. Stop by for a cool treat before or after checking out all of the new Chagrin-Lee businesses.

Pistone Cafe at Tower East (20600 Chagrin) is now open to more conveniently serve the office crowd (but anyone is welcome to enjoy their sleek new space and always delicious offerings), 7am-2:30pm, M-F.

Access to capital is always an issue for small businesses, but startups in particular face hurdles being approved for a loan. Featured speakers include the Cleveland State University Small Business Development Center, Small Business Administration, and Destiny Burns, owner of the CLE Urban Winery.

HRCC members with an existing or entrepreneurial business, and an interest in, or need for, business financing are welcome to attend.

One complimentary glass of wine will be provided courtesy of Key Bank, the event sponsor. Cost to attend is free, but RSVPs are mandatory, and there is a limit of 20 attendees. RSVP here.
