It was a busy fun-filled weekend! My daughter's junior prom (yes I had to take out the island girl braids from my hair as per her request that I look more like a mom haha) and Mother's Day hike and brunch in Naples. Life is good! I even had the pleasure of meeting a loyal and dedicated FLC subscriber Friday night after Sam's Lax game and got a pic with her :) Then Saturday when we picked up the prom flowers at Rockcastle, the owner yelled out to me "Blue Skies"! Ahhhhh....We truly are all connected and it makes life so sweet!

No Struggle, No Progress is Sunday, May 20th at Sonnenberg!!!


2018 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Frederick Douglass. He lived and worked in Rochester, New York from 1847 to 1872. Many identify those years as some of the most treasured and dynamic years in the life of the great orator, author, and freedom fighter. To celebrate, honor, and recognize the life and legacy of this visionary, a production,  No Struggle, No Progress,  will be presented at Sonnenberg Gardens, from 2 – 4 pm on Sunday, May 20. Reception to follow performance.


This multimedia production includes visual images, dance, music, and the words of Frederick Douglass and fellow freedom fighters and will feature the North Star Players, directed by David A. Shakes, and Thomas Warfield, dancer. Event is free and open to public with paid park admission of the special discounted price of $7 . (Discounted park admission price begins at 1 pm.


Library Proposition on Canandaigua School District Ballot. Tues, May 15 I 7AM-9PM. Look for Proposition #2 which asks voters to authorize the Canandaigua School District to levy and collect an annual tax for Wood Library in the amount of $668,000. The $20,000 levy increase will add a total of $1.29 to the tax bill of a property assessed at $150,000. Vote at the Elementary School Link Gym, 90 W Gibson St, Canandaigua and at the Cheshire Fire Hall, Route 21S, Cheshire. For more information, go to woodlibrary.org/vote .

Finger Lakes Community College will celebrate its 50th commencement on Saturday, May 19, with the processional starting at 1:45 p.m. at Constellation Brands Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center, adjacent to the main campus building.
 
There are no limits on the number of attendees each graduate can have. All information about commencement is online at flcc.edu/commencement.
 
Finger Lakes Television will broadcast commencement live on Spectrum cable channel 1304. All Finger Lakes TV content is simultaneously webcast at fingerlakestv.org/live.
