Butters melts our hearts!
Have you ever met someone who makes such a warm first impression that you instantly feel like old friends? Peanut Butters, or Butters as she is affectionately known, makes just that kind of sweet, comfortable impression. She pads up to you with bright toffee-drop eyes and a smile that says pure happiness. Toss a tennis ball and she'll impress you with a well-honed game of fetch!
Here at Sonoma Humane Society, we are constantly touched by the resilience of animals who radiate the hope for good times ahead in spite of a rocky past. In Butters' case, not even a past lacking in care and a present living with a very painful condition could dampen her spirits. (Read more...)

HAPPY TAILS
Cooper: Game On!
Fun-loving with an endless supply of energy? That's Cooper! While here at SHS, he kept volunteers in peak form by hiking local trails with them several times per week. An avid swimmer, he also accompanied one of our staffers to beaches, lakes and rivers on her days off. When a super active family spotted him on our website and came to meet him, we were thrilled. After a brisk game of fetch, Cooper leaned in for some kisses and petting and they knew they had met their match. Now he's enjoying all his favorite activities and so much love as part of this amazing family!

Soup:  head and shoulders above the competition!
Randy and David have had cats for years. Some time after their 18-year-old Russian Blue passed away, they began their search for a new kitten to add to their family. They came to our Healdsburg Center and were having a difficult time deciding which adorable kitten to take home. But when Soup climbed onto Randy's shoulder, it was love at first snuggle. Turns out his first cat used to love riding around on his shoulders! Soup now has two older feline sisters (adopted from SHS 10 years ago!) and two cool cat daddies to love!

Emerson finds the sweet spot!
This sweet family decided that they wanted to adopt a rabbit. They did their research, gathered all the necessary supplies and created the perfect bun-friendly abode. The final step was to find the right bunny. They came to SHS and met with several rabbits, but eventually decided that Emerson and his easy-going personality was the right match for them. Hoppy trails, Emerson!

Medtronic's Mission in Motion!
Last month, a group of volunteers from Medtronic generously donated their time and helped us immensely by pulling weeds and foxtails around our Santa Rosa campus. Once the job was done, they squeezed in snuggle time with some of our kittens, puppies, dogs and cats! Pictured here is Comet expressing his furry thanks on behalf of all of us.  Thank you Medtronic!

Hansel Subaru Adoption Day Success!
