Puyallup Public Library Events
Come by to play some games as libraries across the country celebrate this special day! On Saturday, November 16th, the Puyallup Public Library will observe this new library tradition where children, teens, and adults of all ages reconnect around the educational, recreational, and social fun of all types of games.

10:30 AM: Grab your virtual sword and pick-axe as the Minecraft computer game takes over the library's meeting room.  Friends and like-minded Minecraft fanatics can play for fun or compete in a Build Competition - use creative mode to compete in a themed event for prizes! Bring your own laptop or try out one of the library's computers.  Space is limited and registration is required.  A general knowledge of how to play Minecraft is a must.  For ages 8 to 21 years old.

2:00 PM: Drop in for some free gaming time.  Video game lovers can join the fun of Super Smash Bros. (Wii) or Just Dance 4 (Xbox 360).  Those who like board games can try out a new or familiar table top game (Candyland, Clue, Monopoly, etc.).  Games for all ages will be provided.  Games Workshop, the leading manufacturer of fantasy miniatures in the world, will also be on hand for a presentation of The Hobbit miniature game.  This is a chance to paint your own Middle Earth model and play a demo game.  Children, teens, and adults are welcome.  Bring the whole family.
International Games Day is a national initiative supported by the American Library Association, and its 2013 sponsors.  For more information on International Games Day please visit ngd.ala.org.
