  Welcome!

Happy Fall, Friends!
This is my very favorite time of year.  I was born in October and somehow, it is the season that makes me feel most at home in the world.  I'm glad to see my summer projects winding down.  It's been a busy year, but all good.

On the Easel...

Today, I shipped off to a gallery in Austin, TX the hand-knotted rya rug I've been working on all summer.  (My NEXT newsletter will have photos and a mini-video showing the rug, but until it is "unveiled" at the Opening Gallery Reception in Austin, TX first weekend in Nov. I can't show it!)

Now my "easel' is actually three big table tops with the mural work I'm doing for Dean Robert Camlin Architect & Associates of Westminster, MD. http://www.drcamlin.com/

Here's what it looks like at this moment...but there is a lot more to do.  By next month my tables will be clear!

Sign Carving

How many of you know that I started my art career off as a wood sign carver?   Take a look at a few of my carved signs on my Art for your business page on my web site...click here.
Now, I mostly carve woodcuts for printing, but that skill developed from carving signs in relief.  Here is a short story about my very first hand-carved sign:  My first sign--for Sewataro.

A New Show for Byrdcall Studio:

I thought that my fall/winter show schedule was full, but when I got an invitation to exhibit my art work at Family Farm Day on Sat., Oct. 27 at the Maryland Ag Center on Shawan Rd in Cockeysville, I thought it sounded like a good fit for me.
Check out this event.

My next show after that is The Mistletoe Mart Nov. 8, 9, and 10 at First Ascension Church in Westminster, MD by the Court house.  For more info on the Mistletoe Mart, click here.

Upcoming Class:

Glass Painting Class at Serpent  Ridge Vineyard

My next glass painting class is Thursday, October 25 from 6:00- 8:30 PM at Serpent Ridge.   The cost is $40 which covers materials, 2 new wine glasses, instruction, supplies, delicious snacks, and a hearty pour of your choice of wine. To see some of my recent glass painting work click here to go to my Glass Painting web site gallery.

This is a great opportunity to learn to paint glasses for holiday gifts--maybe coupled with a bottle of your favorite Serpent Ridge Vineyard wine.

To register, call 410-848-6511.  I'll send each registrant more details by email.

Note:  Previous classes have filled quickly, so if interested, don't delay!
