New Boats
In 2011 and 2012, the c fleet was not in a healthy position. Barely any new boats were being built, the mast die was lost with the closure of our extruder, and the used boat market was dismal. In the last few years, Melges along with leaders of our fleets worked together to create a newer design for the c scow. We also had support of our generous fleet to replace the die and countless hours from fleet leaders to quantify the new masts and inspect, measure, and serial number each one to ensure consistency within our masts so we never return to a point where stiff masts or a "slow" mentality are preventing purchasing of new boats. Below is a graph fo sales of c scows from 2011 to 2016.

As you can see, this year our boat sales have declined where in the past 3 years we have provided Melges with a consisted 12 boats per year. In order for our fleet to thrive, we need to support our boat builder. Please consider upgrading your boat for the 2017 season so we as a fleet can continue the path we were previously on. It is important to keep the cost of entry low for new c scow sailors with competitive used boats.
Nationals 2016
Registration is open for the 2016 nationals on Monana. Seven boats have already registered. Register HERE. This year we have a competition for which club travels the most miles. Currently Lake Beulah is in the lead with 252 miles by 4 boats registering. Cedar is in second with 1 boat registered (74 miles), and Monona is bringing up the rear with 2 miles for their two boats (for display purposes). Please consider registering early so we can get as many boats there as possible.
