   Be a Better Babysitter
babies_playing_music.jpg
Anyone can be a babysitter, but not everyone is a GREAT babysitter. Become an in-demand sitter and have fun doing it. Learn how babies, toddlers, and preschoolers develop. Make age-appropriate games and activities and prepare  healthy  and fun snacks. Learn songs and finger plays and practice exciting storytelling techniques. Do you still have that one favorite book from when you were little? Bring it in and learn to read it aloud so you can make it someone else's favorite as well. Rid yourself of inhibitions as you role-play various babysitting scenarios. By the end of the  week  you are the sitter that every parent wants to hire. Taught by an experienced parent educator and elementary school teacher, these fun-filled afternoons prepare the participants to be serious and competent babysitters. Each camper will receive a folder filled with plans for activities to keep children busy and happy, information of what children like and need at various ages, essential questions to ask parents before they leave, how to get started, and recipes for fun and healthy snacks.
