    The Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) once encountered a pig on the road. He said to it: "Go in peace." Someone then asked: "(Why) do you say this to a pig?" Jesus replied: "I (said it so as not to) accustom my tongue to evil speech." Al-Muwatta

    The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever guarantees me (control of his speech and sexual passions), I will guarantee him Paradise."

    Remarks like Orban's drew strong condemnation from American-Muslim leaders who said rejecting Muslim refugees in preference for their Christian counterparts is tantamount to discrimination.

    "I think it is pretty clear that if you deny someone refugee status, or deny them assistance as a refugee based on their faith, that is a result of bigotry and intolerance," said Council on American-Islamic Relations spokesman Ibrahim Hooper.

    CAIR Seeks Probe of Va. School Board Chair's Anti-Muslim Post

    (WASHINGTON, D.C., 9/9/2015) -- The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation's largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today called for an investigation of an anti-Muslim Facebook post shared by a Virginia school board chairwoman.

    CAIR said the post, shared by Chesapeake Public Schools Board Chair Christie New Craig, shows a skull with crossed military-style knives and a woman stating: "Muslims hate pork, beer, dogs, bikinis, Jesus, and freedom of speech. My question is, what the hell do they come to America for?!"

    In a letter sent yesterday to all school board members, CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper wrote in part:

    "We respectfully request an immediate investigation and appropriate actions based on the results of that investigation."

    Also yesterday, CAIR released a video reminder of the constitutional rights of students.

    In August, a Texas school superintendent was forced to apologize for anti-Muslim remarks.

    CAIR offers a booklet, called "An Educator's Guide to Islamic Religious Practices," designed to help school officials provide a positive learning environment for Muslim students.

    In 2013, CAIR's California chapter released a report documenting bias-based bullying of American Muslim students in that state's schools. The report revealed that almost half of Muslim students say they had been subjected to some form of bias-based bullying.
