In 2012, a concurrent jurisdiction agreement (2.1.2) was signed between The Ohio State University, Department of Public Safety, University Police Division (OSUPD) and the City of Columbus, Department of Public Safety, Division of Police (CPD) that allows university police officers to enforce traffic laws and make on-view arrests, while travelling through the city on university business, and provide assistance to CPD in the event of an emergency.
