Starting my second term as a CALEA Commissioner, I am amazed at how much I have learned. As a subject matter expert in Communications I was a bit intimidated initially with the law enforcement accreditation process having only served as an assessor on a couple of police assessments prior to heading out into the world of communications assessments. My service as an assessor, team leader, Chair of the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) Call Center Standards Committee, and CEO of an accredited agency served me well going onto the Commission.  In February two commissioners were appointed to serve on the Board of Commissioners. Douglas Middleton, Chief of Police, Henrico County, Virginia; and Bartram Connelly, Chief of Police, Cape Coral, Florida. The knowledge and experience these individuals bring to CALEA ensures the organization continues to meet its mission of promoting professionalism within the field of public safety.  CALEA congratulates and welcomes our new commissioners!
