Hirokazu Kosaka is one of LA's hidden treasures. Part scenic designer, Zen Buddhist monk, performance artist, director and visionary - he is all parts genius! This Friday is a rare opportunity to see one of his spectacles performed on the Noguchi Plaza of the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center (JACCC).
the JACCC Plaza into a performance arena and ecoartspace with one of the world's largest Zen gardens (more than five million pebbles raked to create pools of raindrops), an enormous spotlight, giant screen projections of a vast cloudscape, Butoh dancers led by the world renowned Oguri, and hundreds of spools of colorful thread spun into a multi-colored rainbow.
General Admission tickets available. Gala tickets include reserved seating for the performance, a limited-edition piece by Mr. Kosaka and a catered pre-performance reception.
