Victims of Violence
Behind every one of these tragedies are real human beings, body and soul. They have names, stories and families to whom they did not return one night or one morning. Kyrie eleison.  Read Bishop Palmer's "Blood Cries Out".
FROM INCARCERATION TO INCARNATION -
BECOME A  30-FOR-30 PILOT CHURCH

What if our relationships formed inside were the start to incarnational relationships on the outside?

Join us for a free lunch and learn how we can leverage our "restricted" relationships for something more at the 30-For-30 Engagement Event on   Tuesday, July 19, 2016
11:30am to 1:00pm at  Whitehall UMC 525 Bernhard Rd, Columbus, Ohio 43213

The 30-For-30 Pilot Program is a church-specific approach pairing your people's calling with a prisoner returning to your community and a local 30-For-30 Reentry Community Partner. Together, you create a positive culture of inclusivity and support where incarnational relationships can flourish within your congregation and your community. Read more...
We are thrilled that since the beginning of Love Packages we have been able to
send over 13,000 tons. We have seen thousands of people saved, healed, and
delivered as a result of this literature. Pastors and Sunday school teachers for
the first time have material to study and teach from. Love Packages currently sends 20 foot ocean going containers to port cities around the world. These locations act as distribution points and have the capability to distribute these materials to thousands of churches overseas.
Everywhere we have gone in America we have found people with literature, and
they didn't know what to do with it. If you are one of these people, Love Packages is
here to help you put that literature in the hands of people who are hungry for the
Word of God.  Our vision is simple. We want to see all  of our excess, the materials that are
being wasted, placed on the mission fields of the world. Won't you help?  Click here...

COMMUNITY MINISTRIES
2017 GRANT PROGRAMS
In 2015, United Methodist Community Ministries (UMCM) awarded 80 grants for a total of $243,650.  The UMCM Board and Local Outreach Committee are pleased to announce the 2017 Grant Program.  By way of grant funding, UMCM encourages congregations across Capitol Area North and South Districts to reach out and serve those in your local communities via missional ministries. Please pass the word along about this opportunity to help fund new ministries to reach new people right in your neighborhood.

GRANT APPLICATIONS AND DEADLINES
The grant forms for funding in 2017 will be available by August 1, 2016, and the deadline for submission will be October 3, 2016. During October, every Ministry program will have a site-visit by a member of the UMCM Local Outreach Committee (LOC).  On November 2, 2016 the LOC will review the applications and make determinations on which grants and amounts will be recommended for funding to the UMCM Board, who will give final approval at their November 9 meeting. Notice of awards will be sent after that meeting.

Micro-Grants are still available for 2016.  Some of the "Other Grants" programs also have funds still available for 2016.  Same as for 2017, talk to your Assistant to the DS to inquire.  Click HERE for information about Grants and money available.
