TARRP:  From Charity to Changing Lives
April 9th
John Stewart UMC
130 W. Johonson St., Upper Sandusky 43351

Enabling others is part of the disadvantage of charity.  Learn how to move beyond enabling to help improve and change lives.  Dr. Mike Linger will present how toxic, demeaning, and dependent charity can be and how the House of the Carpenter helps with immediate needs, yet moves people beyond receiving basic charity toward changing lives.  Rev. Debra Ketcham will also share a format which has improved and changed lives in amazing ways.

Each participant will come away with specific ways to shift away from charity to being 'change agents' which improve lives.  Cost is $20.00/person or $15.00/per person with three or more from the same church/charge.
Brochures are linked, or available through [email protected] or 614-580-2382. Deadline is March 28th.

This impacts their behavior in the home, school, and community.

Our role is to connect with children in healthy ways that help them heal and grow into the people God created them to be.   Learn more...

Camp Otterbein   ~  Camp Wesley   ~  Camp Widewater
A ministry aimed at putting Christian literature and Bibles into the hands of people around the world. Christians all across the USA - people just like you - send us Bibles, Sunday School materials, books, etc. We send them to ministries in many poor countries to distribute freely to people hungry for the Word of God. These are materials that would have sat collecting dust on shelves or been thrown away. Now it's being used to reach souls for Christ, encourage and build up the Church, and the raising up and training of leaders to shine the light in dark places. Our Mission: Love Packages exists to glorify God through the distribution of the Word of God to hungry hearts throughout the world.  See more information.
Vital Conversations on Realities of Racism
Conversations about the realities of race and the impact of racism can be uncomfortable, even in the church. The General Commission on Race and Religion of The United Methodist Church offers   Vital Conversations on Realities of Racism: A Guide to Small-Group Discussions about the Video Series  as a way to begin dialogue, face our misconceptions and fears, and move deliberately to spiritual, community and social transformation.

The General Commission on Race and Religion offers resources to facilitate, guide, and support discussions on how to move to efficacy, justice, and courageous positive action. The Commission strives to build the capacity of The United Methodist Church to be contextually relevant and to reach more people, younger people, and more diverse people as we make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Our ministry model provides resources for congregations and Church leaders to increase intercultural competency, institutional equity, and vital conversations.
Please share these updates with others in your congregation!

Articles welcome by noon on Thursday.
