Howard Slayen honored with "Skip" Shaw Award
"At its 12th Annual Golf Classic earlier this month, Child Advocates of Silicon Valley honored Atherton resident and current Board Member Howard Slayen with the Walter “Skip” Shaw Inspiration Award for his philanthropic work in the community."
CASA guides foster teen to Student Body VP
Victor is a senior in high school and vice president of his student body council. He dreams of attending UCLA and becoming a pediatrician. He is also in foster care after fleeing horrific violence in El Salvador with his little brother.

CASA volunteer helps find forever home for young brother & sister
It's always heartwarming when a CASA can help advocate that siblings be adopted together into a loving home. Dixie Kiel, a CASA volunteer in Texas did just that. After three years of advocating for the best possible home for John and Jasmine (pictured above), the two are going home with their paternal grandmother.
Spotlight: Farrington Foundation supports foster youth since 1998
We are thankful to our broad, strong community of supporters who enable us to recruit, train, and support Court Appointed Special Advocates. Since 1998, The Farrington Foundation has provided over $62,000 to support our work, including $7,500 this year to help recruit more CASAs.
