Fred Meyer Jewelers is proud to partner with CASA and we are about making a difference for children in the Multnomah, Washington, and Columbia Counties foster care system.”  - John Berglund, CASA Board member and Fred Meyer Jewelers Group Vice President of Merchandising

Kudos for CASAs
Kudos are small shout outs from CASA Supervisors to highlight the extraordinary work of CASA volunteers. Thank you to all CASAs for your dedication and hard work!
"A  15-year-old-young man is working hard to think positive thoughts about the future after being placed in his 2nd foster home. Zoe, impressed with his resilience, has given him information on how to become a police officer after he shared his interest in this career and also connected his foster parents with a local non-profit to help him get a tattoo removed. After struggling in math, and telling Zoe he wanted to catch up in school, she put him in touch with Sylvan Learning Center where he has been going weekly to improve his math skills. THANK YOU ZOE! "   CASA Supervisor Debi Sakamoto
"Major kudos to Kim Ell for investigating and analyzing DHS, Court and Police documents and finding that something didn't add up. Kim was able to articulate his findings in such a detailed manner that the Judge dismissed DHS from the case. The child is back with his grandparents whom he's been separated from for the last year. "  - CASA Supervisor, Shenetta Martin
" A joint kudos to Linda Ralley and Lisa Vogel for collaborating on a 5 child/4 foster home case. Lisa was the CASA for all the kids until life circumstances took her out-of-state. She continues to represent the oldest child, flies in to visit him every few months, and stays in communication with his potential adoptive placement. Linda transitioned into her CASA appointment with her usual vim and vigor and I just got out of her way. It looks like these strong ladies have managed to convince the parents to relinquish their parental rights to the oldest child and they were pivotal in getting a new case worker assigned to this case. Great teamwork! "
- CASA Supervisor Scott Lee

" Kudos to Mark Skolnick and Jennifer Laxer for taking on another CASA kiddo on top of their original assignments! "
