CASTA Cover Girl: Winter Park the Lift
Ski season in Colorado is the perfect time to highlight one of CASTA's member agencies providing public transportation for Winter Park, the Fraser Valley and the Winter Park/Mary Jane  ski slopes.

Winter Park the Lift expanded services a year ago under the leadership of new transit manager Michael Koch.     The Lift now serves all of Frazier Valley.  Michael also upgraded the fleet (no more old school buses!) and implemented aggressive marketing strategies to increase ridership.   The recently implemented app RideHop will provide reliable ridership figures.

As with many mountain systems, the Lift is focused  on what locals want from their transportation system, and advocates with local elected officials to hone in on the right strategies to meet the demand.   Michael has plans for additional improvements to the fleet and technology infrastructure. Good Job Winter Park the Lift!
CASTA Membership Survey
Dear CASTA Members,

The CASTA board is undertaking a strategic planning process in early 2017.  We would like to hear from our members to know what is important to you and what you would like to see in the Plan.   CASTA has four key planning areas: Membership Value, Communications, Advocacy, and Education & Leadership.

We have developed a short survey that will help us in developing CASTA's Strategic Plan.  The intent of this survey is to have membership input to shape the direction of the organization for the future.  We strive for continuous improvement and need your help to get there.

Please take 10 minutes to provide us your valuable input.   Click here to access the survey.

If you have additional questions please feel free to contact me at  970-375-4949 or  amber.blake@durangogov.org.

Thank you in advance for your participation!

Best regards,
Amber

CASTA Board Signs Letter Supporting  Bus Capital in Federal Infrastructure Measure

This week, the CASTA Board voted unanimously to sign on to a  joint letter from CTAA and the 100 Bus Coalition encouraging  the Trump Administration - along with Congressional leaders - to ensure crucially-needed bus capital investment is included in  federal infrastructure investment legislation.  Our voice is much stronger when joined with other organizations from around the country with similar needs and issues.   Click here to read the letter.

#FixItCo

A great big Congratulations to all of you who responded to our Call to Action last week.  We have been under the Gold Dome quite a bit meeting with leadership, supporters and those who remain unconvinced.  Your phone calls and emails changed the conversation around transit in Colorado - we are finding a much deeper understanding of the wide variety and colorful nature of transportation services throughout our state.  While the effort remains fraught with challenges, please know that your voices were heard, and your participation makes a big difference.  Stay tuned for additional updates.
