We exist to magnify God and spread a passion for His glory by making disciples and shepherding them to value Jesus Christ above everything else.
Trusting Our Abba
by Pastor Patrick Carmichael
It is so challenging to trust God in the midst of hard times. Often we think that we know how a situation would be better lived out than God apparently does. We think that if only we were God we would change this and make it better. But we're not God. God alone is God. And He is good. He has a plan and His character and promises make it possible for us to trust Him even when we can't fully understand what He is doing!
If you have kids or have been around kids before, you know that they often question your authority, wondering if they might have a better plan than you do for their life. I love how Paul Tripp brings to light how that very struggle that they have at a very young age is the struggle we have as adults, wrestling with trusting in the sovereign control of our God. So, if you're a parent, may this article encourage your heart to lovingly and graciously respond to your kids the same way God responds to us when we ask Him the same questions that our kids are asking us. And may we all, parent or non-parent alike, be encouraged to rest in our Abba's good plans for us, working all things together for our good, to conform us into the image of His Son, and to give us a satisfaction and a joy inexpressible!
