What an amazing month we have been enjoying together as a church looking deeply into each of the five "solas" of the Reformation! It has been such a blessing to be reminded each
of the truths of the Gospel, the truths that the Reformers preached with clarity, conviction, and steadfastness, even in the face of death. Most of us know the big names of the Reformation, Luther, Calvin, Zwingli, etc., but there are SO MANY MORE people than we typically hear about who were involved in setting up the Reformation, in helping to call the church back to the clear teaching of Scripture alone as our authority, and in continuing what those big name Reformers were doing. Over at
they have been sharing a profile of a Reformer each day for the month of October. If you sign up for their emails, you will wake up each day with an email of the small biography in your inbox. You can read it, or you can click on a link inside the email that will play an audio clip of the biography being read aloud for you. They have been averaging around 5 minutes long and we have been listening to them at the breakfast table as a family together as we beginning our day.
I know October is more than halfway done, but there is still time to sign up for the emails, and to get to know people involved in the Reformation that maybe you had never heard about. I know I have been GREATLY blessed and encouraged by these on a daily basis! So I'm including a link below to the main page where each profile for each day in October thus far is given. You can click through into each one to read or listen to them. And if you click into a profile and scroll all the way down, you'll see the option to sign up for receiving the emails through the rest of October. I can't recommend these to you more highly! May we be reminded of what standing for the truth of God's Word cost our forefathers. May we be encouraged to defend the faith that has been passed down to us even at the cost of the lives of those defending it! And may we be grateful and thankful for the privilege of holding in our very hands the precious Word of God, our sole authority, and our firm foundation!
