She is a beautiful young lady that came to shelter after her previous owner had to move from the area. Sophie adores other cats and children. 11TH ANNUAL PAWS IN THE PARK
 Saturday, October 26th, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Wickham Park Main Pavilion in Melbourne (located on the grounds of Eastern Florida State College/formerly Brevard Community College). This fun interactive pet fundraiser will kick-off with a quarter mile "dog" walk-a-thon around the Wickham Park Main Pavilion. People of all ages are encouraged to bring their four-legged friends along during the walk, but an animal friend is not required for participation. From the largest teams to individual walkers, everyone's support is needed to help raise funds to care for the homeless animals of Brevard. The top (3) walkers with the most pledge dollars will receive a "fabulous" prize, and the first (75) walkers with pledges of $20 or more receive a FREE "Paws in the Park" t-shirt. CLICK HERE to download a copy of the "Walk Pledge" form. All proceeds raised from this event will directly benefit the homeless animals in Brevard County. In addition to the walk-a-thon, the event will include the Halloween "Spooktacular" Costume contest along with the King & Queen of the Park, Companion/Pet Look-a-like and Best Pet Trick contests, music provided by Nowhere to Rum, great food, a vendor village, rescue groups and "ask a vet tech" booth. FOO DOG DAYS
On Saturday, October 26th, the Central Brevard Humane Society and Foo Bar, located at 816 E. New Haven Avenue in Historic Downtown Melbourne will be hosting Foo Dog Days, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. This monthly event will feature adoptable animals from the Humane Society, complimentary hors d'oeuvres & doggie treats, raffles, drink specials and much, much more!
Admission is "FREE". All animals must be on a leash or in a carrier and have proof of current shots along with a county tag. Donations of pet supplies will be accepted during the event for the homeless animals at the shelter in Cocoa and the "now open" Merritt Island Adoption Center (155 Pioneer Rd. on Merritt Island). The Central Brevard Humane Society will also be there providing the public with fun educational information about responsible pet ownership, and will have merchandise available for purchase. Proceeds from this event will help to raise awareness and financial support for the "unwanted and abandoned" pets that visit the Central Brevard Humane Society each year, who need a safe and loving "forever" home. 2014 "BEST PETS OF BREVARD" CALENDAR NOW ON SALE
 The Central Brevard Humane Society is proud to sponsor the 22nd Anniversary 2014 "Best Pets of Brevard" Calendar. Gracing this year's cover are Burl, Nadine & Farrah, (3) Terrier pups "hamming it up" on their yacht in Florida waters. Other features of the calendar include the "In Loving Memory" of pets that have passed away, Honorable Mentions, Paws of Distinction and special "money saving" coupons. Copies of the calendar are $10.00 each and can be purchased at the Central Brevard Humane Society at 1020 Cox Road in Cocoa; any of the (4) Molly Mutt Thrift Shops in Melbourne, Merritt Island, Palm Bay & Rockledge; the "now open" Merritt Island Adoption Center; local veterinary offices; and crittersavers.com. HALL-O-WEEN PARTY
 On Wednesday, October 30th, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Central Brevard Humane Society's Molly Mutt I Thrift Shop, located at 2525 N. Courtenay Parkway on Merritt Island will be hosting a Howl-O-ween Party. The public is invited to attend this event with their pet for "FREE". All animals must be on a leash or in a carrier and have proof of current shots along with a county tag. Come in costume (please no facial masks) that day and receive 10 percent off your purchase at the thrift shop. Enjoy lots of treats like Spicy Vampire Bat Wings, Cheesy Bones, Marshmallow Ghostly Treats & Mad Scientist Apple Cider Potion, along with a chance to win fa-boo-lous prizes.
