The California Building Industry Association Issues Statement After Housing Killer Bill Pulled

The California Building Industry Association issued the following statement from its President and CEO, Dan Dunmoyer, after Assemblymember Laura Friedman did not move AB 2648 forward.

“Assemblymember Friedman deserves great credit for recognizing that the current housing crisis requires all policymakers to take a hard look at whether their proposals have the potential to hurt Californians struggling to find a home. We deeply appreciate Assemblymember Friedman’s thoughtful approach and look forward to working with her in the future on how to make housing more affordable and accessible,” said Mr. Dunmoyer.

The CBIA recently announced that AB 2648 was deemed a Housing  Killer because the proposed legislation would have increased unnecessary litigation and increased housing costs.  Read CBIA’s letter regarding Assemblymember Friedman’s AB 2648 here.
