Dear CCA Parents,
We have received serious complaints from our neighbors.
Many parents are not practicing traffic safety protocol and CCA traffic rules. There have also been cases of property damage caused by parents driving on lawns.
In order to maintain a respectful and peaceful relationship with the home owners residing near CCA, we are asking everyone to please review the
Parking and Traffic
page on CCA's website.
For your convenience, we have copied the Traffic Safety section of that page below.
Thank you for your immediate compliance and cooperation.
TRAFFIC SAFETY
Please ensure that you are following all of CCA’s traffic rules, including those listed below. They are in place to keep our children safe and secure. If these rules are broken we will not allow you to pick up your student/carpool until we open the front lot at 3:45pm.
Should you decide to park in the neighborhood and walk in your student/students you need to use the crosswalk. A staff member is at the light on Dayton and Caley ready to assist you across safely. Cars DO NOT expect people, let alone students, to come out between cars and some are not paying attention.
1. Neighborhood Etiquette: according to the Colorado parking law, no vehicle may be parked….
· Within 5 Feet of a Private Driveway
· Within 15 Feet of a Fire Hydrant
· Within 20 Feet of a Crosswalk
· Within 30 Feet of a Flashing Beacon, Signal, Stop Sign, or Yield Sign
2. Please be aware of the NO PARKING signs located in the neighborhoods.
3.
Right-hand turns
from Caley Avenue onto South Florence Way are prohibited. There is a sign before the four-way stop posted.
4. Driving on the sidewalk when completing U-turns is ILLEGAL.
5.
U-turns
are illegal on Caley Avenue and there are signs posted.
6.
Left-hand turns
into CCA’s parking lot and onto Elmira Circle are illegal from 7:15 a.m. – 8:15 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. Our front parking lot will be closed from 7:25am – 8:15am and again from 2:45pm – 3:45pm. Do not move the chain!
7.
Double parking
is never allowed. If cars are along the side of the road please pull in behind them. STAY IN LINE!

Attendance Awards: Change in Policy
|
|
Cherry Creek Academy will no longer be giving out awards
for perfect attendance effective immediately.
With flu strains that are currently spreading, we all need to do our best to keep everyone healthy. It is important that students who are ill stay home and take proper time to recover. We want to minimize all situations where students come to school ill and spread germs.
While we highly encourage well students to attend school each day and be on time, we do not want sick students to feel that they must attend in order to achieve perfect attendance.
Thank you for your understanding of this change.
|
|
You must keep children home if their temperature is 100.3° or above without medication.
Please keep sick children home in order to preserve a healthy school environment and prevent the spread of illness.

New Policy on Birthday Celebrations at CCA
|
|
Dear CCA Parents,
While many schools are phasing out birthday celebrations, we at CCA recognize that honoring students on their birthday is a tradition that our students greatly enjoy and one that we at CCA want to maintain.
However, in order to preserve students’ ability to participate in this privilege, we are making a few changes in order to minimize classroom disruptions and limit time away from the classroom.
Students may still bring treats for their class and/or grade level and the Leadership Team/front office, but they will no longer be allowed to distribute treats to other grades or classes.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
|
|
Dress Code: A Friendly Remider
|
|
- No costume headbands or hair accessories
- One pair of post earrings only
- Solid, uniform colored socks and tights
- Students must wear a belt if their pants have belt loops
It is Cherry Creek Academy’s philosophy that the learning environment is significantly influenced by student’s attire. The purpose of CCA’s uniform policy is to reinforce an academic atmosphere, minimize economic and competitive differences among students, reduce the distraction and cost of fashion, and reduce disruption and disciplinary problems.
|
|
|
"Smart Watches" are allowed at CCA. However, if they become a distraction to a student they will be confiscated and the student will lose this privilege.
If your student chooses to wear a smart watch at school, it must remain on "airplane mode" during school hours.
This feature prevents the watch from sending and receiving text messages and phone calls.

TR
AFFIC/SAFETY:
JHL has planned ahead to minimize the impact to normal school operations, including traffic. Morning drop off and afternoon pick up will not change. JHL has scheduled all deliveries and truck/equipment traffic outside of our drop off and pick up times.
JHL created a safety video for our website, highlighting the efforts JHL takes to separate students from the construction as well as their thorough background checks for their employees, and other important efforts being taken to ensure a safe construction site.
JHL, DCS, RTA architects, and CCA leadership meet and discuss new construction tasks that involve safety matters at weekly Owner, Architect, Constructor meetings to ensure the safest site possible.
TOURS:
We are working with JHL Constructors and DCS, CCA's Owner's Rep, to schedule monthly tours for anyone interested in walking the project to hear and see first hand the progress being made. These tours will be held immediately following our regularly scheduled monthly PTO meetings. The next tour date will be 02
/16
immediately following the PTO meeting.
Remember to wear close-toed shoes to participate!
