Hunterdon County Historical Society's Fall Membership Meeting
CCAHA Book & Paper Conservator Tessa Gadomski presented at the Hunterdon County Historical Society's Fall Membership Meeting on November 12. She spoke about CCAHA's treatment of several 18th-century parchments belonging to the Historical Society.

Tri-State Alliance for Response Meeting
On November 16, CCAHA Director of Preservation Services Dyani Feige and Preservation Specialist Samantha Forsko will participate in the Tri-State Alliance Meeting for members of Alliance for Response networks in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. Senior Photograph Conservator Barbara Lemmen Participates in WUDPAC Trip to Cuba

CCAHA Senior Photograph Conservator Barbara Lemmen was one of an eight-member team, led by the Winterthur-University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation (WUDPAC), to visit Cuba to explore potential photographic preservation partnerships. The initiative, a collaboration with the National Council for Cultural Heritage Cuba with help from the National Endowment for the Humanities, consisted of museum, library and archive visits and meetings with prominent professionals in Cuba's conservation community. In March 2018, the project will continue with a four-day workshop on photograph preservation led by the Cuban Ministry, APOYO, and the University of Delaware.
CCAHA in the News

A recent article from the North and South Brunswick Sentinel touches on CCAHA's work conserving and digitizing an 18th-century volume called the "Pigeon Swamp Ledger" for the South Brunswick Historical Society. Click here to read the article.

Last month, the National Humanities Alliance launched nehforall.org, a user-friendly repository of compelling National Endowment for the Humanities-supported projects. Users can view projects by region and subject matter.

We are partial to the sect ion called "Uncovering American History in the Moravian Church Archives," which discusses the work of our friends at the Moravian Archives in Bethlehem, PA. In 2010, CCAHA preservation services staff conducted an NEH-subsidized preservation needs assessment for the Moravian Archives. Click here to read the story.
CCAHA's Regional Heritage Stewardship Program

Building upon past success in education and network-building, CCAHA is leading a set of ambitious new strategies to aid underserved regions of the country, adapting successful service models to assist collecting institutions along the Eastern Gulf Coast and in Appalachia.

In October, CCAHA Director of Preservation Services Dyani Feige and Preservation Specialist Samantha Forsko traveled to Tallahassee, FL; Dennison, OH; and Charleston, WV, to present a series of workshops on essential policies and procedures for cultural institutions.

Programming in 2018 will include workshops on emergency planning and webinars on addressing mold and historic building preservation issues.

Upcoming LYRASIS Programs 
In 2016, CCAHA and LYRASIS partnered to increase their constituents’ access to vital services. CCAHA members receive a discount on LYRASIS programming. In addition, the organizations offer combined consulting for cultural heritage organizations. 
The Conservation Center for Art & Historic Artifacts (CCAHA) is a nonprofit conservation facility specializing in the treatment of works on paper, photographs, and books through conservation and state-of-the-art digital imaging services. Founded in 1977, CCAHA serves both nonprofit cultural institutions and private individuals and organizations. CCAHA’s preservation services staff present educational programs, conduct preservation assessments, and develop emergency preparedness plans. CCAHA also offers fellowships, fundraising support, and disaster assistance.
