A Message from Child Care Aware of NH
Hello Providers,

March has arrived, hopefully we will start to see the first signs of spring. Child Care Aware of NH has been hard at work helping children, families and providers across the state. Our Child Care Resource and Referral Outreach Specialists have been getting ready for the 2018 Annual Provider Update. The Annual Provider Update helps Child Care Aware of NH have the most up to date and accurate information about your program so that we can refer families looking for child care to programs that best fit their individual needs. Look below for more details about this year's update and thank you in advance for getting your update back to us!

Our Training and TA Specialists are busy supporting providers through coaching, mentoring and training. This year's Progressive Training and TA Programs have recently been notified and will soon begin their year long journey on their chosen initiative. Congratulations to all the programs that will be embarking on this great adventure! Please see below for a complete list of this year's Progressive Training and TA Programs. In addition, Programs that applied to be part of the Emergency Operations Planning (EOP) in a Child Care Cohort have also been selected and notified. Participating programs will develop a comprehensive and sustainable EOP with a cohort-model approach. Beyond creating their own plan, the EOP Cohort will work towards creating a user-friendly guide for statewide use for any child care personnel to utilize in their own EOP process. Congratulations to all pilot programs working in the EOP Cohort. Way to be at the forefront of Emergency Planning in early child care!

Furthermore, Child Care Aware of NH will host several more special events. On March 15, 2018, Luis Hernandez will be joining us for the NH Early Childhood Leadership Summit Part II. Luis will be conducting a training on Leadership: The Power of Respect and Polishing Our Vision. Luis is a dynamic and engaging speaker who should not be missed! Join us for the first time or continue the conversation from the fall in this full day training opportunity. On March 24, 2018, the Caring for Our Children: Health, Safety, Nutrition and Wellness Conference will be held in Portsmouth. This full day conference will offer great professional development opportunities to early childhood professionals. On April 7, 2018, Child Care Aware of NH in collaboration with Across NH and the Office of Emergency Management in Nashua will host Special Event Emergency Planning. If you are looking for more information so you can better prepare for, respond to, and recover from the next incident, emergency or major disaster, register today! Look below for more details about both events.

We would like to take a moment to congratulate all the participants of this year's Early Childhood Credentialing Challenge. Being credentialed helps to promote yourself and the field as professionals. CCAoNH applauds your hard work and effort in completing the credentialing process. We look forward to seeing you receive your credential at the NH Early Childhood Celebration on April 10, 2018.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for everything you do for families and children. We hope that you enjoy this month's edition of Monthly Minutes.

Other Early Childhood News & Updates
Announcement: The Bureau of Child Development and Head Start Collaboration has posted a DRAFT of the Proposed Enhanced Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) on its website.

The QRIS draft was developed over several years by the QRIS Task Force in collaboration with the DHHS/DCYF Bureau of Child Development and Head Start Collaboration (formerly Child Development Bureau). The QRIS Task Force includes representatives from various Early Childhood programs, professional organizations and state bureaus and departments.

What are some important facts about the current version of NH’s QRIS?
This is a draft. This document is a working document and has not been finalized.
This draft is intended to inform the early childhood community and stakeholders of the progress of the new proposed QRIS.
The proposed QRIS is a hybrid model, which uses both a building block and points approach to assign quality ratings. The point system is not represented in this draft but is in development.
This draft is designed for child care centers only at this time.
Until further notice, Licensed Plus and national accreditation remain as NH’s QRIS.

The DRAFT is located here:
