The Annual Giving Campaign is made up of yearly gifts from parents, faculty and staff, the Board of Trustees, grandparents, alumni, and friends of the school. Each year is a separate drive designed to meet the operating needs of the current year. We are asking for 100% participation from every CCDS family! No donation is too small.

Grade Level Participation as of April 6, 2018

Snack Food Ideas

Snack food ideas to share with your families: Try to find packaged foods that are less than 9 grams of sugar. Generally, You cannot go 100% with one brand name. They make several products with better/worse ingredients. For example, with Kashi or Cliff some products are better than others; you have to read the ingredients. The main thing to look for is the sugar (mentioned above). Try as much as possible to limit soy/canola oils (which can be very hard in this industry), and opt for expeller/cold pressed canola oil if possible. No high fructose corn syrup. Try to choose ingredients with as few ingredients as possible. For example, a Kind bar is better than a Nutrigrain bar. Healthy fats are good. Not everything has to be low fat or nonfat. It is okay to have whole milk.
  • Belivita biscuits (one package has 4 biscuits, could be divided into 2 snack baggies)
  • Nature Valley granola cups (these are a great hit with kids now)
  • Dried apple chips
  • Popcorn- plain olive oil popcorn with light salt. No cheesy/sugary flavorings.
  • Kids organic Z bars made by Cliff
  • Annie's Bunny organic crackers (kids love these)
  • Hummus and pretzels
  • String cheese
  • Apple sauce (no high fructose corn syrup)
  • Terra's root veggie chips
  • Lays oven baked or Sun chips
  • Yogurt (the sugar is higher, although I have found organic ones on the shelf, not refrigerator section, that have lower sugar. They are near the individual applesauce squeezers)
  • Soup (maybe once a week, have a homemade soup to ladle into a cup)
  • Whole grain fig bars.

Desserts: Apple sauce and a cookie, cinnamon graham square with 2-3 Organic gummies (mainly looking for no HFCS), chocolate chip cookie, vanilla yogurt with a few blueberries on top, or a strawberry. It is hard to navigate the desserts and we don't have to be perfect. Keep the serving size small and strive for balance.
Great Escapes Survey!

We have created a survey for anyone involved in the CCDS Great Escapes fundraiser. A separate email will be distributed for those who attended the fundraiser. Because of everyone's involvement, the fundraiser was a great success and the proceeds will greatly benefit the children!

If you were involved in our fundraiser, please take the attached survey so that we may evaluate the event and gather suggestions for future years. Your responses will be collected anonymously in hopes of compiling constructive feedback.

The survey will remain open through Monday, April 9th. If there are other volunteers that may not be on the school's email list, please help us by forwarding this survey on to them. Please click on survey . Thank you for your time and support of Canton Country Day!

Sincerely,

Mike Brown
