Annual Giving Fund

What is the Annual Giving Campaign?
The Annual Giving Campaign is made up of yearly gifts from parents, faculty and staff, the Board of Trustees, grandparents, alumni, and friends of the school. Each year is a separate drive designed to meet the operating needs of the current year. No donation is too small.

CCDS Family Sing-along
All Grandparents are welcome to attend the Grandparent Reception on December 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. held in the dining room. Cookies, coffee and hot chocolate will be served as you get to know other grandparents. At 11:25 a.m. you will be ushered into the performance area for special seating at the sing-along. There is noon dismissal on this day.

Hot Lunch Program
The January Hot Lunch Menu is now activated!

Please check the school calendar for any dates that your child will not be in need of a school lunch. There will be no reimbursements for any orders past the deadline date.

  • Please keep in mind when ordering and selecting your menu items for the month you must complete the ordering process.

  • Be sure to "CHECK OUT" the order and "PAY INVOICE" and finally click on "PROCEED". Only when you receive an invoice marked as "PAID" will the order be confirmed.

  • Not completing the process will result in an "UNCONFIRMED ORDER". All unconfirmed orders that pass the ordering DEADLINE DATE will not process, which will result in your child not receiving the anticipated lunch item.

The online Hot Lunch Program is only for Kindergarten through 8th grade. For those of you that have not signed up for "Hot Lunch", you can do so at

Coffee With Mike
Parents Association Meeting

Coffee with Mike is Thursday, December 14th at 8:30 a.m. in the middle school Science Lab. Come join us as we discuss our new admissions/financial aid protocols as well as a brief overview of our parent survey results. The Parents Association will have a meeting afterwards.

PA is in need of many cookies!

CCDS closing info is posted on the local TV and radio stations. CCDS closing information is also available (after 6:00 a.m.) on the CCDS answering machine and on our website at


CCDS is located in Plain Township therefore we generally follow their weather directives. We do not, however, follow Plain Local delays.


  • If Plain Local is open we are open.
  • If Plain Local closes for weather we are closed.
  • If Plain Local delays for weather we are closed.


  • When a snow day is anticipated, teachers will assign snow day work on the previous day.
  • When school is closed for two or more days, please check Chalkable/parent emails for your child’s assignments. Teachers will post assignments by 8:00 a.m.
  • Most importantly, when assignments are finished, go out and enjoy your day and be safe!
New Exploratory Sessions Offered!

After completing the Shrek musical, middle school students are now in new classes for Exploratory Session 2. Classes in Drumming, Art, Choreography, and Choir have begun and will continue until Winter Break.
Basketball Unit In P.E.

Grades 3rd-8th have started a basketball unit in P.E. that will involve skills such as passing, dribbling, and shooting. Students will play a variety of games to work on their skills, while improving cardiovascular endurance.
CCDS Sports

Cougars at Play and
3rd - 5th Grade Intramural Basketball

The Cougars at Play intramural program will end December 12th. Thanks to Mr. Bruce for leading this fun intramural program for our second through fourth grade students.

Intramural basketball will begin in February. An e-mail with more details will be sent to third through fifth grade parents after winter break. This is a change from the previously announced dates . An e-mail with more details will be sent to third through fifth grade parents after winter break.

 CCDS Basketball

The CCDS basketball teams played two games this past week, against Lippman and Andrews Osborne. The girls are 2-0 and the boys are 0-2. This week both teams play Gilmour at home on Tuesday, with the girls playing at 4:45 p.m. and the boys playing around 5:45 p.m. The boys play Ratner at home on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

Team members greatly appreciate the support of their friends, but please remember that all students must be supervised by an adult or they will be signed into ETC, and students must remain in the bleacher area unless they are getting a snack from the concession table or using the bathroom.
