First Sundays: Program, Bible Study, and Fellowship Meal

This Sunday, we welcome Grace Gallagher of the Cameron K. Gallagher Foundation to share her program,  When the Band Aid Doesn’t Fix It: One Mom’s Perspective on Raising a Child with Mental Illness . If you know and love a young person, then this program is for you.
Dr. Michael Compton will lead our Bible study. This Sunday begins Part 1 of a 4-part Bible study on the Gospel of Mark. Children are invited to join in supervised activities in the Parlor.
And for our fellowship meal, we will delight you with a feast inspired by the Mediterranean! Chicken kebobs with tzatziki sauce, catered by the Mesopotamia deli, with homemade hummus, pita, raw veggies, spanikopita, Greek salad bar, and dessert. Chicken nuggets and pasta salad also available

Community Potluck for Women
Thursday, January 18
All women are invited to a special potluck lunch as we continue our fellowship with women from the West End Islamic Center and seek opportunities to learn and to serve together as neighbors. This time we will hear specifically about how we might participate in Richmond Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build project this year, as well as other joint volunteer possibilities. You are invited to bring a dish to share if you are able, being mindful to let everyone know if your dish contains common food allergens like nuts, dairy or wheat, as well as meat dishes that contain pork. Youth Ministry at the Garage
Youth Groups and Small Groups return this week at the Garage! Please pardon our dust at the Garage as construction continues to make more meeting spaces for smalls group and Bible studies. Join us next Sunday, January 14th at the West Broad Village ice skating rink for a fun afternoon on the ice (4:00-5:30 p.m.) This will be in place of regular youth groups.

Come, get information and support from one of our resident counselors, Terry Becker-Fritz, and find a group of others who share this reality! We’ll meet once on February 18, from 12:00–1:30 PM and talk about whether further sessions would be helpful.
