CCEF APPRECIATES OUR TEACHERS!
April 9, 2014

We are defined by our experiences, our choices and the opportunities afforded us throughout a lifetime. And many of us...perhaps even most of us...can attribute the impetus of our beginning development within the classroom.

Whether your education began in a private, public or home school environment, we all have been effected by and been made witness to those who valued the power of an inquisitive mind, the benefits of being a life long learner and the rewards of working together to see a project to its finish.

The Cabarrus County Education Foundation invites you to celebrate our CCS teachers with us this spring! Brava tutti, CCS teachers! Job well done!

CCS Teachers are Top in the Region
Cabarrus County Schools teachers are ranked 1st in our region for effectiveness. The ratings, released by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, are based on a formula that gauges whether teachers met or exceeded goals for student growth.

The report shows that 90.2% of CCS teachers either met or exceeded goals based on the formula.

"Congratulations on a job well done," said Superintendent Barry Shepherd. "We are extremely proud of the great work our teachers have done in the classroom and of the results that their work yields for our students."

Rachel Wilkes, CCEF Executive Director, states that "the Cabarrus County Education Foundation is very proud to join CCS in recognizing and awarding the excellent instruction and leadership occurring in our schools." "Thank you for letting us take part."
Teacher Effectiveness

Here's how select districts fared on new ratings of teacher effectiveness, which run student test scores through a complex formula designed to gauge whether teachers met or exceeded goals for student growth. "Charter average" is a composite for 14 charters in the Charlotte region.
