Thanks to the Belk Foundation, the Institute for Emerging Issues is launching a Community Action Plan Grant Competition, where winning team(s) receive funds to implement their plan in their community.

The Cabarrus County Education Foundation has joined in the competition to receive grant monies as part of a $1 to $1 matching gift challenge for our Classroom mini-grant program for CCS teachers!

In his presentation to the Cabarrus County School Board of Education on Monday, May 12, Chris Adams, Senior Vice President & Area Manager at SunTrust, reiterated the importance of teachers and their esteemed position and contribution to our society. In return, SunTrust awarded each of Cabarrus County School's five finalists with $250 and the official 2014-2015 CCS Teacher of the Year with a $1,000 check.
