User presentations highlight 7EA annual meeting, beginning October 31, register today!
Presentations by owner/operators are highly valued at all user-group meetings. By the editors' count, there were nine at last year's 7EA User Group meeting in Santa Fe, almost half on forward-compressor issues. Five presentations by engine operators already are on the preliminary program for the 2016 conference at the Hershey Lodge Conference Center in Hershey, Pa, October 31-November 3. CO2: The versatile non-hazardous cleaner
Dry ice in pellet form is used extensively to remove rust, sulfur deposits, ammonia salts, and insulation debris from HRSG heat-transfer surfaces (finned tubes). It's been used to prepare catalyst beds for new blocks. It's non-hazardous with no cleanup or no residuals beyond the materials removed. So what about other areas of a combined-cycle plant? Open discussion forums are highly valued by attendees but they can be challenging, particularly when there's a high percentage of first-timers in the room, which is typical of user-group meetings these days as plant managers try to get recent hires trained and involved quickly. more 
'HRSG Forum with Bob Anderson' registration opens online
HRSG troubleshooter Bob Anderson called CCJ's editorial offices to say the website supporting his upcoming conference, the first annual HRSG Forum with Bob Anderson (Charlotte, Feb 28-Mar 2, 2017), was up and running, complete with online registration.
The preliminary program reflects a diversity of subject matter, with presenters divided among owner/operators, consultants, and products/services providers

Knowledge shared by the OEM important to 7EA owner/operators
The OEM's engineering team will take the podium after the morning break on Day One of the 2016 7EA Users Group meeting at the Hershey Lodge Conference Center, Hershey, Pa, October 31-November 3. GE engineers will present on a wide variety of topics before the session closes at 5 p.m. Although no formal program is yet available, several presentations likely will update ones made last year in Santa Fe, possibly some of the ones profiled below.  more
