Think about your particular assignment at this time in your life. It may be to get an education, it may be to rear children, it may be to be a grandparent, it may be t care for and relieve the suffering of someone you love, it may be to do a job in the most excellent way possible, it may be to support someone who has a difficult assignment o their own. Our assignments are varied and they change from time to time. Don't take them lightly. Give them your full heart and energy. Do them with enthusiasm. Do whatever you have to do this week with your Whole Heart and Soul.

June 30: Rev. Mary Garry. Universal Church of the Master retiring president Reverend Sandy Clark will install the incoming president Reverend Mary Garry. Following that installation, Reverend Garry will install the new officers of the Board. Mary will then share with us some of her goals and strategies for UCM in the year to come. She will also discuss "Why would anyone want to become a minister". Years of working at her husband, Reverend Tom Garry's side, watching him sponsor and develop dozens of ministers for UCM gave her a unique perspective. She will also share her path to the ministry, under her sponsor husbands guidance.
July 7: "Self-Reliance: Your Inner Truth" Joyce Brown and Patty Baker. Self reliance is understanding your own signals and learning to trust them. There are those who would call this intuition, discernment, and paying attention to that small still voice inside. We would also call this, listening to your soul.
Self-reliance is based on creating a positive way of living for yourself, and can be of benefit to those around you, provided they can allow it to be so.
But the key begins with you. You cannot look to others to be your self-reliance. Others can give support, compassion, friendship, incredible teachings. But the final decision rests with you.

"When is it my turn? When do I get picked?"

A lot of my readings start out with my client saying, "when is it my turn?" They confide in me that their marriage isn't doing well, or their children are a disappointment, or maybe their job, education, hobby isn't working out the way it should and they want a "different life". They want everything to change and make it "their turn." Without changing anything. As my spirit guide MAH shows me a blank slate, I am reminded of the Apollonius of Tyana character: from the movie - 7 Faces of Dr. Lao. The character says to a woman asking for a look into the future, "Tomorrow will be like today, and the day after tomorrow will be like the day before yesterday. I see your remaining days as a tedious collection of hours full of useless vanities. You will think no new thoughts. You will forget what little you have known. Older you will become, but not wiser." But, this ancient one doesn't add - unless you change; which is the very best future you can predict.
I know you worked hard on paying your dues, marrying the person your parents wanted you to marry, going to the schools that your family chose and waiting for it to be "your turn". But, it doesn't work that way. Doing all of these things doesn't guarantee you will get into your favorite college, marry your perfect mate, be happy and healthy as you see in your dreams. The only way for you to get what you want and go where you desire is to do what you love. And do it now!
So many of my clients feel they have no choice and they will wait for their life to "happen." They go see a psychic to find out when this miracle will occur. Each one of these clients I ask how they are setting their life's dreams into action. The majority of my clients are waiting for it to happen and for the Universe to make it "their turn."
If you want to own your own business - start organizing people, connecting and leading them - focusing your energy on that skill. It could be volunteering to be president of the local PTA, or taking up a small job in your church. Not everyone who is a CEO of a large company started out with a MBA. Go for what you want and you will find it is "your turn." If your plan requires getting picked at work, on the dance floor or in the dating scene, and you're not getting picked, you need a new plan. I understand how difficult it is to move forward and be who you want to be. Sitting at home in front of the television and wanting it to be "your turn" or going to a psychic to ask for glimpse into a wondrous future, or praying for a miracle is not getting it done.
Don't wait for someone to pick you! Pick yourself! The problem isn't that it's impossible to pick yourself. The problem is that it's frightening to pick yourself. It's far easier to put your future into someone else's hands than it is to slog your way forward, owning the results as you go. You are the one that makes the difference. Do it today! Pick yourself to start the motion - remember, it is your turn as soon as you take it!

The name for the festival of the Summer Solstice in Druidry is Alban Hefin, which means 'The Light of the Shore'. Druidry has a great respect and reverence for places that are 'in between' worlds. The seashore is one such place, where the three realms of Earth, Sea and Sky meet. There is great power in places such as these. It is the time of greatest light and it also brings some sadness because from now until Alban Arthan, the Sun's strength is declining and we have entered the waning year. Of all the festivals Druidry is mostly associated with Alban Hefin. The wonderful white-robed figures filmed at the dawn rituals at Stonehenge are testament to this. However, to many Druids it is the turning seasons and the cycle of life, death and rebirth - reflected in the Wheel of the Year in its completeness - which are significant.
